Turn in Turn

Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you.  ~Maori Proverb

Good Morning San Diego,

I turned off the light last night, turned over once in my sleep, and turned to the sunlight in my eyes, snap! just like that, the night was gone. The sunrise was brilliant and the day was turning itself on.

Misty Monday

The moment when you first wake up in the morning is the most wonderful of the twenty-four hours.  No matter how weary or dreary you may feel, you possess the certainty that, during the day that lies before you, absolutely anything may happen.  And the fact that it practically always doesn’t, matters not a jot.  The possibility is always there.  ~Monica Baldwin

I love that Possibility. And lately have even been happy to see the grey, drizzly days. That just means I have an extra hour to enjoy in my day because I don’t have to water today. I can turn my automatic sprinklers off and thumb my nose at my water bill for another day. My pool deck just got a bath. Rain is really a timesaver. We had a beautiful, hot, high surf, Fed Cup Tennis, R&R weekend. Now we can start the week all rested and scrubbed clean. And for those of you that don’t agree with me, this might sum up how the rest of you are feeling:

I have a “carpe diem” mug and, truthfully, at six in the morning the words do not make me want to seize the day.  They make me want to slap a dead poet.  ~Joanne Sherman

Good Morning San Diego,

Blue Boat Tuesday

Good Morning San Diego,

Skies are blue, but not the sunny kind. We will have the clear hot weather after about 11am, but for now we can enjoy the cool blue of the dawn.   Click this link to Sunrisea  poem  “by Paul” I like.  How cool is the  internet;  I can share anything I am passionate about, and find people like Paul who’s interests mesh with mine. Then, I can share them with you, who dont really care one way or the other, but know I will hound you until you look at my blog today…

A walk in the clouds

Fog Horn Fantasy

Fog Horn Fantasy

Good Morning Fog Breath,

Well, today I can see a little further than my hand. It is softly quiet out, I have not heard the whistle buoy or the seals this morning, but awakened to the baritone of the required 6 notes of a large ships’ fog horn. Love that kind of ‘get outta bed’ alarm.

So many boats so little time

So many boats so little time

So many boats so little time

Blue boats on the blue bay, marine layer go away. From my perspective only about 5% of these beauties ever leave the slip. If I took just one boat from here out every day….I would never finish writing my blog. So I guess I will just sit here and look at them.

Don't you ever sleep?

Don't you ever sleep?

This seagull arrives about 5:00am and watches me almost every morning as I take my sunrise shots.  I guess I should not have fed him, now I own him?

Good morning San Diego. Still no sunrise, just the soft blue halo of our persistant marine layer.
